I have a client that has about 3 or 4 "1+700 within area code" tables. The client wants to get rid of these tables completely. How do I go about doing so? Do I need to make a new table with just the local area code here. I have not done this before or seen someone use these 1+700 tables. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First off, you stated a 1+700 Table, I think you meant a 1+7 table, RIGHT?

Also, When you say they "want to get rid of these tables completely", what are they trying to accomplish?

It looks as if they are sending "10107251605" on each of these calls.

That would route the calls to the "10107251605" carrier.

Are they trying to get rid of that?

What if you dialed some of the exchanges shown in these tables....

Does the call go through?

Have they changed their local/LD vendor?

Correct, I added 2 zeros after the 7 and shouldn't have.

They want to get rid of these tables completely. The client is tired of updating them all of the time.

No we are not getting rid of the 1010 number.

I have not dialed any numbers to see if a call goes through but the client is up and working and calls go in and out just fine.

The client has recently changed their t-1 service, everything is up and working just fine. We just want to get rid of these 1+7 ARS tables. I have dialed into a few legend systems and have not seen anyone use these 1+7 tables before. If you have any more questions I will try and answer them as best I can.

If you're not getting rid of the 1010 number, you need to route your 7 digit toll calls differently from your 7 digit local calls.

You could make tables with the LOCAL prefixes without the 1010 number, and add the 1010 sequence to the default local table. Then anything that doesn't match a local prefix goes out through table 18. BUT, if they add any more local prefixes, and you fail to add them to the table, then you are using your Long Distance dial around to place those calls ($)

If you wanted to simply eliminate the 1010 code, and route all calls through your provider (and you should be able to get your PIC set to whomever you want), the easiest way to disable those tables, without manually deleting all the entries, would be to raise the FRL or tables 1 through 4, so that the extensions are not able to use them. Then everything drops down to the default tables.

Maybe do that, and see if the clien't phone bill goes up. After all, THEY wanted them removed.
