I am a little new to the IP Office from Avaya. I have worked on a Merlin system a lot in the past, and have a question about ARS tables for the IP Office.

The Merlin had a default Toll Output table and Default Local Output table. My current Merlin tables are at the bottom. Pool 890 is my LD T1 and 70 is my Local PRI. Currently local calls try to go out PRI, if it is full or down they route out the LD T1. Long distance calls go out the LD T1, if it is full or down they go out the local PRI.

How do you have to set up a similar system in IP office. Do I need to set up a bunch of short codes for every possible local area code and two ars tables? If so I am a little confused as to how I would set up the ARS tables.

A TABLE 25: Default Toll Output Table

A Pool Absorb Other Digits FRL Call type Start Pattern
A 1)890- 01 -------------------- 3 BOTH --:--
A 2)70-- 00 1701---------------- 3 BOTH --:--
A 3)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 4)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 5)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 6)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--

A TABLE 26: Default Local Output Table

A Pool Absorb Other Digits FRL Call type Start Pattern
A 1)70-- 00 -------------------- 2 BOTH --:--
A 2)890- 00 701----------------- 2 ----- --:--
A 3)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 4)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 5)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--
A 6)---- -- -------------------- - ----- --:--

you would use the ARS tables and make a couple. your main would send N; calls to local and then 1N; to LD and then use failover at the bottom of the ARS to route to different groups during an outage.

I just want to verify because I am still a little sketchy on my specifics.

I would use a main ARS table for routing local calls out local PRI and long distance calls out LD T1. Then have a failover table that would be reversed? (Local calls out LD T1, Long distance calls out local PRI)

Correct that is how i would do it.
