Not sure this is possible . I'm not having much luck.

Back round...
incoming number DID
ICR pointed to ( SC/ Dial / ARS )
ARS pointed to 3rd party app (Line 28 ) SIP Trunk

My objective is if that 3rd party server fails and the SIP trunk goes down the call could roll over to a VM Pro module.

Thanks

It's only dialtone!!!

I didn't test that so far but I don't think you can route a call from ARS to voicemail. The only way would be a loop from one BRI port to another and ICR on the trunk the call comes back into the system. But that wouldn't make sense.

Did you try to define VM Module as secondary target in your ICR?

This is what I would try:

That ARS table would need an out of service route to a new ars form.
The ars form would have a ? dial SC.
The short code could trigger a VMPRO short code eg> *95 Feature> Voicemail Node> *95 . The VMPRO short code *95 could point to a module.

Get the new ars table working first before you bolt it on to the existing module as an out of service route.

May the force be with you.

I don't think Voicemail Collect is available as short code feature in ARS. There are only different dial features and blocked available.

Yes it is not. I just checked. This won't work as the call has already left. Disregard what I wrote above. It makes logical sense but can't work.

"Only short codes using the following features are supported within ARS: Dial, Dial Emergency, Dial Speech, Dial 56K, Dial64K, Dial3K1, DialVideo, DialV110, DialV120 and Busy."

May the force be with you.

how about creating a backup ARS that kicks in when the first one fails and then sends the call via dial extn SC to an internal target?

Not sure if it works though if the Dial Extn is available and after checking it is not.

I guess you are out of luck but maybe someone else comes up with something really wicked smart

I like the thoughts. Funny I thought about looping it derfloh. Tried shortcodes within the ARS but those wouldnt work.

Forgot to mention this is on a Serv Edition so I take the call in on a 500v2 and send it to the SE.
I tried sending the call back from the SE to the 500v2 for failover via the ARS but I get dead air when it hit VM Pro.

I might try creating the SIP connection from the 500v2 and sending to the SE for failover and see what happens.

where are dem wicked smart peoples [thumbsup2]

Maybe send the call route to user that is forwarded to the sip trunk.
Turn their voicemail on. Put the vm time out to something like 20 seconds.
Send their leave mail function to wherever it should go in an AA.

the looping might be the way to go.
do you have analog lines and extensions left?

you could loop the lines into the extensions and then send it via another ARS out the trunk back into the Extension which in return sends it to the VM?
but that is of course a nasty way to do things.

How about another SIP trunk as backup that sends the calls in the main number and caller ID routing does the rest?

If you have two BRI ports then set one to S0
Use a ISDN resistor and make a BRI crosscable.
You can now route a call out of the ISDN to the S0 port and send it to a VMPro module.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
