I am Upgrading the disk capacity on a Compaq 1600 with a 3200 series controller.
Current config =5 * 4.3 Gb Disks
1 Logical drive = 14.9 Gb
(Proposed )New config will be 4 * 18.2 Gb Drives
1 Logical drive =54 Gb
Using compaq utility CPQONLIN I wish to achive the above without doing a complete rebuild. I can find documentation on extending of expanding array, but not much on modify array. Any help would be appreaciated.

We just did something very similiar on very new boxes and the same controller series... impossible as far as we could tell.

What we did was used the Veritas IDR recovery software to backup the system and the data, put the new drives in, built the array to the full size of the new drives, and then put the data back down. Worked just great on the Win2000 server we did it on.... but we went from 18G to 36G drives.

Thanks for the input.
I will bite the bullet and do the rebuild.

Thanks very much.
