I am having a problem with Arp entries on the 8600. I have a gig ring connected to the 8600 with Spanning tree enabled, When a problem occurs on the ring, spanning tree sends the traffic the other way but the nodes which changed direction cannot be seen from the 8600. The arp entry still exists but it will not see the device until I delete the arp entry on the 8600. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What version of code are you running on the 8600?

running 3.1.2.0 - Ii is connected to 1150's in a gig ring.
I need to delete the arp entries of the 1150's when a problem occurs.

hi
first time upgrade you PP8600 to v3.1.6.1 or great
Version 3.2.2 works fine
When you have your problem loot forward database in vlan menu.

PP8600 have a lots of problems with the "gracious ARP"

Thanks - I upgraded to version 3.1.6.1 in early september - at Nortel's recommendation, and my problems went away. So you are correct - 3.1.6.1 doe correct the problem.
