I've got some bay interface cards that I need to confirm as working. I have a couple known good Bay ARN's with 16D running version 15.2. I need to test multiple CV0011020 (V.34 modem cards) and multiple CV0011003 (ISDN BRI-U cards). I have both site Manager and Console access to both routers, as well as an isdn simulator.

Can someone help me with a sample config either via bcc or Site Manager. I configured the ethernet port and connected via Site Manager, and then I've messed around with Site Manager for a while now and I'm not making any headway. Just need to pass data on the cards to verifty their status.

Thanks..

email me the configs you have already and i'll take a look and make them right. Or let me know what slots the cards are in and some IP address/masks, any static routes and ISDN / modem no's and i'll do it for you .

Hey Paul,

I got the V.34 console modems figured out, so that part is taken care of... Just basically dial-in with a modem and verify console access and led's.

As far as the ISDN cards, I'm able to get the D-channel up and snyc with my isdn simulator, but have been unable to route data across the link yet.

I don't have any config's saved yet. Basically I have two ARN's, both with Bri cards in slot1, and ethernet onboard. I want one end of the bri link to be 192.168.40.1 and the other end to be 192.168.30.1 (or whatever, addresses don't matter too much). I have known SPIDS from my simulator. I basically want to see call setup, b channels come up, data pass, and then call teardown to verify all is good (dial-on-demand I guess). This is no problem for me on cisco, but I'm just not familiar enough with Bay to knock it out quickly. Do the bri ports actually get ip addresses, or is it best to do some type of ipunnumbered setup where they use the ethernet address or something?

That would be great if you could make/send me a sample config...I would really appreciate that.

I assume that you want this config to be used in the UK .. as i need to know what switch type to set up.

As far as IP addresses are concerened you don't have to use IP addresses on the ISDN links.. you can use unnumbered, however you wont be able to verify each end of the link as you will not be able to ping them. Also you have to use an unumbered associated address with this method which has to be up and active i.e the Ethernet IP address at each end

I always put IP addresses on useally on a 255.255.255.252 mask so you only use up one IP subnet and so you can verify each end by ping.

can you send me your email address so i can send the configs up to you.

I also take it that the IP addresses you mentioned were for the ISDN interfaces and not for the LAN sides, if so i presume you are using a class B mask.

The best thing to do is email with what IP address/masks you want on each Lan side of the ARN's and what IP address/masks you want for the ISDN interfaces.

Also let me know what the numbers are you are using for the ISDN simulator and also any CHAP / PAP parameters you are using.
