Arial font size 8 is not displaying correctly

I'm using CR 9 and Sql Server 2005. It seems like when I use font Arial and size 8, the letters are not displaying correctly and are all squeezed in together. I noticed it from Design and Preview but prints fine. It does not happen all the time. I'm not sure what's triggering this issue but I was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same issue.
