Hi All

I am very new to MS Project

Already it is really annoying my

Why does it think that a task I start on monday that takes five days, finishes on the monday after?

It does not, it finishes on the Friday!

My working day is set as 9:00-13:00, 13:30-17:00

I can change that if required as I am only interested in working days, man hours are of no interest to me

Regards Tom

My guess is that you have changed your calendar to a 7.5 hour work day -- but have neglected to change the definition of a "day" to 7.5 hours -- it is still at the default 8 hours. Assuming you are using Project 2010:

Project tab > Change Working Time, Options button. You need to change your default start, default end, hours per day and hours per week. Then show (temporarily) time as well as date - through Display. Ensure your first task begins at 09:00 and all should be sorted.

This is a common error - see FAQ 5 at
I hope this helps.

Julie
