Has anyone used the Ares Collection? I have referred to VBA Help, but what I experience does not correspond to the documentation.

I can accomplish what I want to do by comparing row & column counts from a known CurrentRegion to UsedRange. But it seems that it could also be accomplished using the Areas Collection. Maybe I am misunderstanding what Areas are.

Skip,

As Areas can overlap as well as be contiguous or non contigious, they may not in all cases be the best method of getting cell, column or row counts.

If you make multiple slections holding the ctrl key you get areas. In fact if you select A1, and holding Ctrl click on B1, then click on C1, and then click again on A1, and get Selection.Areas.Count you will find it to be 4.

I cannot recall ever actually using the concept of areas, but suspect the main use would be in conjuction with Intersect and/or Union.
