area code issue

I have sets in the 200 range and I have a local number that starts with 289, its always trying to dial just the three digits. How can I get this to work. I have rules setup for nxxnxxxxx but it still tries to dial just 289.

I ended up putting a T after 2xx in the Nortel settings page dial wizard. seems to work now. May still be an issue if someone pauses while they are dialing... any other suggestions would be welcome.

I have no problem dialing ext 201 or area code 201
I don't use any dialing options in the nortel ext or nortel general settings (unless ext needs a special case)
Tends to cause dialing problems
Out of habit I hit the # key or the call soft key after my last digit

The solution is simple - don't use the pattern 2xx for your extensions - use a more specific pattern. For example, if your extensions are 221-238, you could change the pattern to 2[2-3]x. With this pattern, extensions 220-239 would be immediately dialed, but you could dial 10 digit numbers starting with 20, 21, 24-29 without any problems.

With providers that don't require the digit 1 for LD, the above solution will not work as it will prevent you from dialing any AC in that range.
A way arround is to require your exts to dial 1 for LD calls then strip the digit 1 from the outbound route or in the trunk configuration.
More people today than ever are use to 10 digit dialing for LD due to cell phones etc
