Hi,

Are there DLLs written to query XML for COBOL programs ? If so how can i invoke the DLLs from a batch program ?

Thanks !

Which COBOL? Which operating system (DLL=Windows, I guess, bt which Windows)?

Hi,

Cobol II or Cobol on MVS OS 390. I will need to access XML from mainframe(thru MQ series if possible), but i am not very sure if it is possible at all !! I have worked with other utilities like PKZIP and other such stuff from Mainframes...so I was wondering if there is something similar for XML access from OS 390 Cobol.

Thanks !

The new IBM "COBOL for z/OS and OS/390" compiler has support for XML. I suggest you check out the manual. If you do not have the new compiler in your shop, you can preview it at XML is in section 1.13. This looks like a nice compiler! A lot has been done to bring it closer to the new 2002 Standard.
There is a nice overview at
Its about 36 pages, you can download it easily.
