I work for a construction company and am setting up some palm applications for use by crews in the field.

Much of our work is in oil refineries where they do not allow you take mobile phones etc into the plant unless they are "intrinsically safe" - meaning it is not possible for the electrical device to create a spark.

Does anyone have any information on this? Are palms approved for use in any refineries you know of? Can anyone tell me the battery Voltage & Current?
