A customer just asked us to switch to an EDIINT solution to save on VAN costs. They use Cyclone, but I notice that there are several other options. Can anyone comment on the compatibility of these products? If I get Lexicon, will I be able to communicate cleanly with the customer using Cyclone?

I believe all edinit certified products can communicate together, otherwise it would kinda defeat the purpose. We use cleo lexicom and have it working with other trading partners who use cyclone and isoft.

Thanks Lee. It's good to hear that someone is witness to the products playing nice together. My concern was vendors adding non-standard features to differentiate themselves.

Well I guess its possible they could add some non-std features, but I haven't seen anything yet. I would think that as part of their certification process these ediint vendors would of had to go through tests that allows them to work together and meet some standard communication gueilelines. Again, we are just starting with ediint too, so we'll have to see what happens as we go. Overall, it's been a pretty smooth process so far for us. No real problems mostly just small config issues that were attributed to being unfamilar with ediint and software.

totkopf,

ls62 hit it on the head. All AS2 certified products passed the Drummond Group's interoperability testing process. This makes sure that every certified product can communicate with every other certified product. If a certified product makes changes to the code, the product is no longer certified and has to go through the process again.

We use the Boomi Exchange Series. It has an AS2 product embedded that is going through the testing now so i have been finding out what that means. The current round of testing should be complete this month, so there will be more AS2 certified products soon. I do suggest checking out Boomi, we have been extremely happy with them and we actually just decided to completely migrate off of Gentran to their product. Check them out !

Hope that helps.
