I have two systems, a P4 running on a ASUS P4B board, Matrox Gforce2 450 card, dual head.
The other one is a PIII on another ASUS board, Matrox Gforce2 550 card, dual head.
Both systems have 2 monitors, are running the latest video card drivers. System 1 is Win2k Server (it's a dev workstation) and System 2 is running Win2k Pro. Both SP2, both latest hot fixes, etc, etc.
System 1 seems to run out of GUI objects or Window Handelers, causing the screen to screw up. EG:, if I have 5 IE windows open, SQL server EM open, VB, Interdev, etc, etc. Dropdown menus will no longer drop down (they can be selected with the keyboard, but will not drop down), the start button will give the first menu but is unable to display the programs menu. If I kill one or more apps, the dispaly problems dissapear, until I open up more windows. Things like the text on the title bar screw up as well.
On System 2, text like a LABEL in a form or a Text Editor like Interdev have parts when the chars are on top of each other. EG: The work David will look like the D.A.V.I.D. letters on top of each other, so are unreadable.
I have contacted the local distributer (in .au) and they were no help.
Can anyone suggest anything I can look at?
