Hi all

Are there any AIX users required for share a filesystem on Windows NT? I want to install a share for NT on a RS/6000. But I don't want configure some AIX Users.
How I can solve this problem. Is there a way to configure SAMBA without AIX users?

You can make all your Samba shares public. Not advisable unless you have other good methods of security on your network. Or if you are like me and only enable samba when you need to have the access and then "turn it off" by killing the smbd processes when you're done.

Seems to work okay for me, and I don't have users. Einstein47

We are accomplishing this sort of thing by exporting a nfs to a Win2k server. I don't know what mechanics are used on the W2k machine, though. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation

You can map your samba user to a default user define on AIX.....
