Arcserver Bricklevel (mailboxes) backup

Hello there,
Our MS Exchange Info Store is about 4GB and contains about 600 mailboxes.
Exchange is part of a multiple site.
normally a bricklevel backup takes about 4houres but often it takes 8 to 10 houres.
Can anybody explain that to me ???
