ArcserveIT query restore

While doing a query on a file to restore it the query comes back with "no matches"f to the file name be requested. The file exists and should show up multiple time but does not.
The long manual session searches work fine but again it takes a long time when your looking for a specific date.
Any idea's

Is the syntax for query correct ? Don't specify anything else, just simple filename and try out whether it is OK.

Still did not work. The file name has 9 characters (XXXXXXXXX.XXX)so I tried xxxxxxxxx and I tried xxxxxxxxx.* with no success. I know this has worked in the past, I just don't know why it stopped.

I am running Arcserve 6.61 (build 8345SP2A) workgroup edition on WindozeNT4. I have completed a full backup and now wish to restore some info. But instead of restoring a whole session or tape, I'd like to resore by query. When I do this, I get nothing. Basically I choose the server and file name and hit 'query' and nothing is returned? What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated...

Mendelevium - why don't you just restore using the database if you have just taken the backup? There, you can select your required directory/files...

2know - when you specify the query, are you also specifying a directory as well as a filename? Try to keep your filename query to the 8.3 standard even if the file is a long filename. Use wildcards as already suggested if you have to. -----------------------------------------------------
