About once a week, backup just stops backing up part way thru a volume. Backing up (3) Netware servers. The server that it stops on varies. No error messages. Must re-start backup server to recover. IBM 3000 Server with tape drive is just used for backup only. Just did a complete re-install one week ago and it froze again last night. TSA and SMDR versions are all the same on all the servers as come with Netware 5.1. I have a new DLT 8000 tape drive and new tapes. I use CANWPABD in lieu of NWASPI. This is the 3rd re-install in about 2 months. Connections thru Bay Accelar 1250 switch. Running at 100mb half duplex on all servers. Adaptec 29160 SCSI card. Other than this once a week failure, the backup works fine on the remaining days.

ARCserveGuru asked if there were any error codes. No, there are no error messages/codes. The backup just stops.

Forgot to mention....The tapes we're using are a new batch, never used. When we did use previously used tapes, we used the quick erase option to erase the tape prior to usage. I thought new tapes may correct the problem, but they didn't. However, the failures have not been as often on the new tapes.
