ArcserveIT 6.6 migration of data - restores not working

I have recently migrated data from one Novell server to another and as a result also the arcserve backups.
On trying to restore data from tape for the original server, after merging the information to the database, I am asked to login to the "old" server which is no longer in the tree.
Any ideas as to how I can retreive my data and place it on the new server? Any help appreciated!! Thanks

Don't restore to original location and create a new unique user that never existed anywhere with admin root rights
