I am upgrading to 11.1 from 2000. As part of a test, I have tried to restore 2000 tapes (SDLT & DTL) from 11.1. I can see the sessions, but can't see the actual contents of those sessions (drill down)!

- I have tried re-initilising the db
- Re-installing 11.1
- Re-building the server and re-installing 11.1
- Have run CSTOP.bat (installed a blank db from CA support) and then run CSTART.bat

Nothing seems to work! The job aren’t password protected, so can’t explain. The files are listed in the db.

The Server is 2003 Ent Edt with ARCserve 11.1 restoring a 2000 Adv Svr Sp4 with ARCserve 2000 SP5

P.S. Does anyone know any good resources on this caroot? and ca_auth.exe??

Cheers,
Aaron

There are probably database changes since ARCserve 2000 that prevent old sessions from being shown correctly in the maanger.

If you are in dire need of restoring something from the old tapes you should install ARCserve 2000 and restore it that way.

Otherwise, backup the data using BAB r11.1 and those sessions should appear in the restore manager correctly.

I have contacted the CA support line, who inform me that I should be able to restore the data in 11.1..... and that was about as good as it got (0/10 for their 'support')

- I was hoping that someone else had seen this problem and could offer a solution to it.
