Since the installation of Arcserve2000 I have been unable to get a full backup on a single tape. Prior to AS2000 my full backup was putting approximately 22GB of data on a 12/24gb dds3 tape, now it kicks out around 17-18GB with a message to insert another blank media. I have verified that compression is on and also have tried new tapes. Any clues for the clueless?

TIA
Tony

Keep in mind that 24GB is a Maximum compression size. Your actual storage size will vary on the type of data being stored and the compression method used. Often, your net size will be much less than 24GB. Your tapes may actually be full.

Thanks, I do understand that, but find it hard to believe that ARC2000's compression scheme is worse than its predicessor. I was putting out in excess of 22GB prior to the upgrade, now its nearly 25% less.
