ArcServe Ver. 7 Restore

I'm trying to restore an exchange mailbox but the tape is a month end from October. I try to do a restore by session but it doesn't show anything on the tape. What do I do? I'm not very familiar with ArcServe

You need to "Merge" the tape back into the database. To do this, go to the Manager menu, Utilities menu, select Merge. This may take some time depending on how long your backup takes, but when completed you will be able to drill down the database and select what you want to restore.

This happens so that the Arcserve database does not grow to an impossible size. Usually, the parameters are to purge everything older than 30 days. -----------------------------------------------------

I'll give that a try. Will I have to do that with every backup like this?
