I am using Brightstor Arcserve V9 on a W2K server. Arcserve writes database information to ASTPSDAT.### files in the Database directory. What are these extra files used for?

The astpsdat files hold the file-and-folder information that is displayed when you want to restore something.

Thanks for the reply - I noticed that I only use 3 of these files ... will the others ever be used. Am I doing something wrong?

I have not taken the time to figure out the how and why it creates so many of these files or on their usage, but perhaps this faq will help a little.

Title: What are the VLDB File Types?

Hi
I think ASTPSDAT.### has size limit and when it reached it will create new astpsdat+new number.
