ArcServe V9 and Hardware Errors

W2k Server with SP3
Arcserve 9 with 9.01 patch

I have 4 tape drives - all sony sdx 500c - 3 are single tape drives - 1 is a spectra 215 tape changer with 15 slots. All tape drives are directly connected to the arcserve box. The three single drives work fine - no errors at all. The changer on the other hand consistently gets hard ware errors that it can not mount media - unable to write to media - SCSI port errors -

Called tech support and their idea was to use the device config manager to allow arcserve to manage the devices - which helped nothing

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

How many drives in the changer?

If more than 1 you'll need the TLO option loaded and configured via DEVICE CONFIGURATION.
