Hi there,

we are stuggling with a locked out Arcserve 2000 system account. Ofcourse, E3073 messages are popping up everywhere in the arcserve log.

However, we are still running succesfull backups, doing great restores and apparently are still able to do disaster recoveries.

Does anyone know what the account does then? Arcserve is showing these errors, but we can do what we want to do. Is there a purpose for this system account?

I have Googled this but to no avail :(

Who knows???
As you found out I know that it will cause those pesky messages. Just reset the system account to get rid of them.

It seems that it will be used as a secondary source of security info in case the primary is invalid. It is used for some of the communication between ARCserve installations and components. It also seems that from version to version the details might have changed.
