Arcserve reports failed backup

We have an exchange server (5.5 sp4) being backed up with Arcserve (sp2a). It also backs up our intranet server via remote client.

The backup appears to have worked, but Arcserve is reporting it as failed. We can restore individual mailboxes from the tapes, but I haven't tried a full exchange restore.

Any ideas?
 
When ArcServe reports that the job has failed, is that the listing in the Job Status window? Have you checked in the Activity Log to see what specific error codes it has encountered?
 
This ARCserve backs up our Intranet server via Client and the intranet server is the one causing the problem. It keeps giving the error code 8524 and saying to stop the job and retry, since our backups run at night theres no chance. Arcserve support have been next to useless. If I can get this working, all my backups work!
 
OK Fixed it, You have to run the Patch for registry files longer than 256 characters. All six machines backed up finally! :)
