Arcserve R15 - alert messages

I'm new to arcserver I have been able to set up the smtp relay and tested it out via the alert manager and I do get the test notification. But don't get the alert email when a successful backup completes even though I've setup up the alerts.

What is the difference between the Default and CA ARCserve Backup smtp settings?

Currently I only have one full backup job. That is sending alerts to an email that I can't seem to find in the arcserve. How do I track this down?
