ArcServe r11.5 and HP 1x8 G2 Autoloader

Please help!

I have a DL380 with a HP 1x8 G2 Autoloader running ArcServe R11.5 that I cant get to work.

I have the autoloader set to Random so that ArcServe can control it.

I have RSM disabled as well as the library and tape drive in Device Manager.

But in ArcServe it keeps telling me I need a tape library option, now I have called CA and they tell me I dont and are "getting back to me" with some suggestions.

If I enable the library and tape drive it tells me they are offline in ArcServe....

Any ideas.

Hi. I had the exact same problem with a DL380 server.
Heres the advice I got:

HP don't support libraries off the external SCSI port of their SMARTArray/RAID cards, you'll need to invest in a separate SCSI card.

This sounds exactly your problem. You only need the tape library option if you have an autoloader with more than one drive.

What version is your server? G2, G3???

I know regarding the card issuea and it is on its own Ultra320 card, its a G2

I think I have just got it working...

Needed SP4 with fix ro01446

Need Removable Storage Service Off with Devices enabled.

I just downoaded SP3 2 months ago so why that doesnt work I dont know.
