ARCserve r11.1 ( Build 3060 ) NOT RESPONDING !!!

Hello All,

I having a problem with ARCserve not responding when trying to open Database manager or Device Manager. Everything else seems to open fine. I did a search on here for an answer and found that in Server Admin > Initialize database will fix it.

But my concern is losing the catalog information, is this an issue i should worry about ?

Any help would be great thanks.
 
could be database.
test it
cstop
close the manager
make a backup copy of the database subdirectory
cstart
initialize the database
first try initializing only astpsdat.

If it works fine then you can either leave things as is and merge in any tapes you want in the database, or run the utilities to repair the database. There are faqs here and tech docs on the CA site explaining.
