I know most of these files are for DB maintenence (i.e. dbfix, dbdefrag, dbkeyrebuild, etc), but there are a few (like dbclean and cleanupdmp) that I have NO IDEA how to use. Does anybody know what the purpose of EACH these files are? If I could be pointed in the direction of documentation (NOT a CA strong point), I would much appreciate it. Thanks...

Can't say for all of them but the ones for the VLDB are described in vldbutil.htm. Tapetest, tapecopy, and chgtest are command line utilities for the Tape Engine. ARCbatch or CABatch in the newer versions is a command line utility for submitting backups. Most of the rest are called by the program itself.

I think dbclean and cleanupdump will be called by arcserve when you initilize the database
