I am running Arcserve 2000.(SP4) The Arcserve Manager application randomlly hangs for a few seconds, then shuts down on it's own. There are no errors or entries in the event log.

I have had it happen while modifiying a job, checking a job status, and viewing the logs. There seems to be no pattern to this.

Any help would be appreciated.

What if you reinstall the manager? Install the Manager on another machine and connect to it remotely? If it is the same then the database is corrupt.

I had this same thing happening to me, CA support helped me resolve. I was told that it was the Job Queue. Trying to remember exact fix.. I believe they had me to stop database engine, close manager and maybe RPC server as well. Then go to the /Arcserve folder and rename the 00000001.qsd folder to *.old, then open back up Manager and restart services and engines and it would give you a "new" job queue and issue was resolved. Hope I remembered the exact steps. Please forgive its been a while, my memory is slipping.

That sounds just like what I needed to do to get mine from crashing so much. To stop it completely, I upgraded to build 1100 (SP 4 I believe).
Hope this helps. Christopher *
We bring the mis-manage to MIS Management.

HI, I have almost the same problem when i am modifying a job that has Netware client Agents, the job gets corrupted and the management console shuts down. I was doing a lot of troubleshooting and it seems to be a bug. I wrote down the steps i did at console and it hangs always at the same point.
The working enviroment is AS2000 Sp4, Console on W2K WS.

I'm having a similar problem on an Arcserve 2000 SP3 install on an NT server. Anytime I modify a job, it will close giving me a Dr. Watson error. Nothing shows up in the event viewer. I have initialized databases and uninstalled and reinstalled the product.

Thanks!
