Arcserve Freezing at the Same Point

Every night arcserve will freeze when it is backing up the arcserve temp directory with the cat files. Luckily, it backs up all my data before backing this directory up. I took this out of the backup and will see what it does tonight. Does anyone have any clue as to why it would be stopping in this directory. I ran mergecat and thought that would fix it, but it didn't. Another weird thing is that it never shows my backup sessions in the restore area. I have to merge the data into the database on every job. The guy that set this up is using a sql database for the arcserve database. Could this be the problem??

SQL is slow.

if it is stalling at the cat files, then your cat files aren't being backed up or into the database. check for database errors in the log.
