Hello

I'm a Newbie with the Exchange Agent and I would be very happy, if someone could give me an short answer to this two questions.
(ARCserve 2000 SP4 on a Win2000 Server, and an other server with Exchange2000 and the ARCserve Exchange Agent)

1. Now I see my Exchange Server just under "Network" and not under "Client Agent" like the other server I have. (ARCserve Backup ->Source). I tried to add the Exchange Server also under the "Client Agent", but it didn't work. Do I have to install the Win2000 Agent also on the Exchange Server? The problem is that I can't backup the System State now.

2. If I want to restore individual Mailboxes, do I have to backup the Microsoft Exchange Server -> Brick Level -> Individual Mailboxes or is it also possible to restore an individual mailbox from the Microsoft Information Store??

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

1. Add the Exchange server under the client agents using "Host name resolution"

2. You need to backup the brick level to be able to restore
a single mailbox

thank you for your fast answer!!!

1. I did that, but I can't login. I get this message: "Failed to login to the Agent". The user has enough permission. What could be the problem?? Do I need to install the Win2000 Agent also?

If you have not installed the NT\2000 agent on the Exchange server, you have to isntall it...

good morning together

now the backup works fine, thanks for the help! I just tried to make a restore and now I get this error message:
"E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=\\SR-001\dbaxchg2, EC=DBagent does not exist.)"
I installed the Exchange Agent only on the Exchange Server. Do I have to install it also on the Server where I have the ARCserve2000(SR-001) installed?
