We use arcserve 2000 with sp4 and the exchange and windows client agents. The arcserve database is backed up in each job.

During disaster recovery testing I noticed that in the session restore option, the database information for the very last job is always incomplete.

I thus can never get the exchange or NT backup agent options for the very last backup set. I would first need to get an updated copy of the arcserve database with the details of the last job.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

This is because the information from the very last job is still in the ARCserve temp directory ( the *.cat ) files.
The merging of these *.cat files will only take place AFTER the backup job so the backup of the database is missing the very last job information.
For disaster recovery however, you don't use the database, the process directly restores the required sessions with a 'restore by backup media' kind of job.
The *.cat files in the ARCserve temp directory should also be on the database session on tape. You can manually merge them by using the mergecat ( command line ) utility, this way the database is updated afterwards.
