I am using Arcserve 2000 with the Notes Agent and Backup Agent for Open files. Some nights my Notes database backup via the agent will be of 1000 databases/transaction logs and 300 gigabytes. The very next night it was 831 databases/transaction logs and 226 gb. Last night it was 698 databases/transaction logs, and 75 gb.
I see in the Arcserve Notes backup agent that it lists a database with a number in parentheses after its name. (Like "JSmith letters", "JSmith letters(25)", "JSmith letters(46)".) I have some with three "versions"?
My users are not adding and dropping databases very often, and certainly not hundreds in one night. Is it possible that databases/transaction logs figure varies some days because the transaction logs are created/open while a database is in use? I don't know Notes from Adam, so I am guessing here. My users are not actually using Notes as groupware; they are examining data from another company.
Anyway, is this Notes backup behavior normal?
Thanks for any and all help.
Dave
