Arcserve Brightstor 11.5 failing on one mailbox

I am running Brightstor 11.5 SP4 on Server 2003 and am getting the following error on only one mailbox:

EC=CGYEXCHNG: Backup Agent Error -- (354) "Failed to find the object information:

I have only found articles related to this error when administrators are trying to restore, not during backup.

this is sometimes a result of a virus detection program stripping an infected attachment.
