I have the trial version of ArcServe 9 on a NAS device, which does not have a floppy disk drive. Is there a way to create a Machine Specific floppy (used with bootable CD) without using the wizard??

I've tried mapping the A: drive to a folder, but that didn't work. I don't want to install ArcServe 9 on any machine besides the NAS at this time either. Any ideas?

I don't think there alternative way to create the specific disk.

The Machine Specific information resides in the DR directory of ARCserve (there is a directory in there for every machine ARCserve has made a full backup of) . You can install ARCserve on another machine that has an A: drive, copy the directory of the machine you want to recover to the DR directory of this ARCserve installation and run the boot kit wizard. You can also just copy the complete contents of this machine in the DR directory to a floppy and use it for DRO but you have to test if this works.

I don't this this is going to work ,since the specific disk contains some info related to the machine having the tape drive/library connected to.

OK could be, but if so the alternate path for Disaster Recovery information that you can configure in the boot kit wizard would then have no use because you would need another ARCserve server to recreate the Machine Specific Disk.
I tested this once on a simple workstation and it worked for me
