ARCserve Backup/Session Logs

Hi there,
I'm running AS2000 on WNNT 4.0 Server. Can anyone please advise how I can make a copy of the Backup and/or Session logs be automatically e-mailed or have a copy of the log moved to a shared directory when the Backup has completed? The logs need to be readily available yet the individual reading the logs doesn't want to have to search for it. Thanks. DT

Hi,

You can easily have the "Job Log" emailed to an administrator after each job finishes by configuring the Alert module to attach the job log to an email (it's under the "job options"/"alert" tab). Using the basic Arcserve product you can only send email to an Exchange server or to a Lotus Notes server. To send mail to an Exchange server, the Outlook client must be installed on the Arcserve server.

If you wish to send mail to an SMTP server on the Internet, our company offers a low-cost software utility that enables Arcserve to send the Job Log to an Internet email address.
