We just virtualized an Arcserve Backup server running Arcserve 11.5 and windows 2000 that has a tape drive attached. The backup job is working, however it is taking much longer than when it was a physical box. What used to backup at 1500 mb/min is now crawling at 120 mb/min. It does not matter if it is trying to backup files on another VM or files on a physical box.
Should this configuration be able to backup at the same rate as a physical machine?
