Good Morning,

Can someone pls help?

I am currently running Arcserve 6.61 on my NT box. My full backup on friday, which was incomplete gave the following warning messages:

W3401 Unable to find file. (FILE=C:\WINNT\QTFont.for, EC=FILE NOT FOUND)
W3401 Unable to find file. (FILE=C:\WINNT\INOCULAN.INI, EC=FILE NOT FOUND)
W3401 Unable to find file. (FILE=C:\WINNT\inoculan.alt, EC=FILE NOT FOUND)

How can I resolve these issues on my full backup. I am only gettign these warnings when I do my full backups. My daily incrementals are running just fine.

Thanks

Have you tried installing the ArcServe open file agent on the NT Server?

I haven't, and I am not sure if it is installed on the box.

How can I verify whether or not if it is currently installed?

Thanks

That is because you are doing selective(static) in your backup sources.

Try to make the selection dyncamic(select the whole volume, machine ) and use filters to exclude directories that you don't want to backup

In order to know what different selection you are using is determind by how much of the green box is filled on the volume of the file you are backing up.

If it is a FULL green then it is dynamic therefore any files missing or deleted ARCserve doesn't care if it is there or not! Dynamic Selection.

Then do filters to exclude the stuff you don't need.

If that shading on the volume source is half filled then the selection is static! This doesn't help as ARCserve keeps a memory print of the tree selection so if a file or folder is deleted ARCserve still tries to back it up and says the File is missing.

For the other error W3404 Unable to open file

make sure backup agent for open files installed and running and there is licensing errors.
