Arcserve and network shares

Backing up a workstation that has a number of important network shares - keep gettin g error e3406 Unable to open file.

Do I need to put the client s/w on the workstation or am being thick?
 
You are more than likely going to have to put the BAOF agent on. This should help you out.
 
I agree with the previous reply. You will need to install the Backup Agent for Open Files on the workstation. I've had to do this for network shares on Windows 98, and 2000 professional boxes.

Do you have the problem only with some graphic files (jpeg, gif)?If so, we resolved this problem aplying the Arcserve 2000 SP4.
