ARCserve and HPUX

Would like to know if there is a way that the ARCserv Application can reach out and "stop" the ARCserv Client on a UNIX machine. My UNIX administrator is indicating that when he enters a ugent it indicates that the ARCserv client is enabled but stopped. So is there a way in which the NT ARCserv Application can stop the UNIX client remotely?
