Hi all,

I have a couple of w2k servers in a dmz that require daily backups - currently these are done locally but we have recently implemented a backup server with 5 stack auto-loaderwhich is located behind the firewall on a separate management LAN.

Question - I haven't found anything that provides me with a list of required ports and/or the security holes this setup is likely to cause.

Firewall is Checkpoint Firewall-1.

These documents describe some of the ports used by Arcserve.

If security is the big concern, I would put a backup solution local to the networks to avoid opening ports on firewalls, and to avoid loading up the routers.

Please let me know if this helps.
