Arcserve and Compression?

Hi guys,
I'm using tapes DLT 200GB without compression and 400 with compression. I'm backing up a groupwise database 210 GB. the back up requires two tapes. I'm trying to activate compression but when I check the media I saw compression is on but still the backup requires two tapes
For sure I'm missing something but what is it I don't know, any help will be appreciated.
