ARCServe Alerts, Lotus Notes and Message Attributes

Why is it so difficult to get ARCServe Alerts to work via Lotus Notes consistently ?

I have spent a considerable time making the Alerts work at all and they now seem to function for most of my 30 Sites but, I have configured Message Attributes (by right clicking Lotus Notes in Alert Maanger) so that the Subject of each Alert shows straight away which Branch it has come from and some pick up these attributes and some don't !!!! Yet they appear to all be configured the same.

Can anybody help with this ??

Can anybody tell me which directory the NCHYALRT.DLL file should reside in ?

Finally is it possible to run Alerting and Alert Manager on a seperate Server from ARCServe and configure ARCServe to recognise this ?

Any help greatly appreciated before I reach the end of my patience !

Perhaps the debug log will provide the answer. I added a FAQ on how to put Alert in debug.

Alert has to be installed on the same system as ARCserve. However one Alert can forward an event on to Alert running on a different system.

Hi All,

Is it possible to upgrade from Version 6.6 to Version 6.61 of ARCServeIT with too many problems ?

Is the upgrade a free download from somewhere ?

If you are going to upgrade, why bother going to another old version (that will stop being supported in Dec). Why not upgrade to ARCserve 9, or hold out for ARCserve 10?

The 6.6 to 6.61 upgrade was by CD, and it not available via download.

Upgraing to 6.61 is not availiable at the moment the only way is to upgrade to 9.0.
