Arcserve Alert Manager

I have a number of servers running Arcserve, most are on Arcserve 2000 or earlier so only have Alert Manager version 4. I have one server running BrightStor Arcserve (v9) which has Alert manager version 7.
Alert Manager 7 is the only version with SMTP which I would like to use to notify of success or failure of backup jobs (we use lotus notes, so setup with this is messy and impractical). Is there a way to upgrade the version 4 machines to v 7 or does this require a whole new arcserver? or maybe a way to send alerts to the v7 machine and alert me from there?

The other systems can send their alerts to the beb system but you would have to experiment to see if it can change it over. The newer alert will probably work with the older versions of ARCserve but you would have to install BEB to get allert on the other systems Even then the older ARCserve versions don't support that method of sending alerts. Sorry but it does not look to good.
