ARCserve 9 Manager display gwtsa problem (GroupWise 6.5)

Hi.

I have a lab environment with NetWare 6 sp3 GroupWise 6.5.

The problem is when I expand the tree under GroupWise systems I ARCserve manager a just see “dom:” and “po:”. Weird…
I can back it up. But the problem comes when I tries to restore it.

So I loaded gwtsa with “ll-v” switch (verbose mode)
When I click on “GroupWise systems” in ARCserve manager, I’ll see that gwtsa lists all directories that I have specified in gwtsa.ncf BUT it don’t get the names on GroupWise domain or the GroupWise post office.

Then I installed GroupWise 6.5 sp1. After that tsa log screen displays all GroupWise directories correct. BUT I can’t see anything in ARCserve manager!!
No error messages or any thing, it’s just blank under "GroupWise systems"! :(

I’ll tested with a GroupWise 6 sp3, it work fine.

Has anyone any experience with ARCserve 9, gwtsa and GroupWise 6.5


 
This is a known issue according to CA after I went around and around with them on this exact issue and they weren't able to help me. I think I may have discovered the problem based on how clueless they were. They said they would "work on it". Ha. Nothing yet - no patches, nothing.

You should call my contact person at CA and request (demand) that they give you (for free) the backup agent for GroupWise so that you can backup and restore your GroupWise using the agent instead of the GWTSA. That's what they did for me. If they won't, I'll share my license code with you because CA is screwing it's customers. This guy CAN help you and he's a nice guy.
