Arcserve 6.61 on nt: 4009 Wait on object error

all of a sudden:

E4009 Wait on object error. (MODULE=ASDBNT.DLL, OBJECT=JobIDMutex, EC=NO ERROR)

0030205 194308 \[CAT\] Failed to create new session record.(EC=Error Code = -2008)

The arcserve$ share has full privs for the arcserve user (file system too)

Can't stop jobs (bu or prune). And the arcserve admin freezes when I try to init the database.

Any ideas?

reboot
apply sp2a
init astpsdat db

Done!

astpsdat was corrupt.

I have a similar error, using the Unicenter Enterprise edition V1.1 (- not sure if ARCServe 6.61 is the same one, could well be.)
I get the E4009 error but don't get the second line about failing to create new session records.
Anyone happen to know if the same fix applies?
