Arcserve 6.61 Next Media Notification

How do I setup a notification to be sent to my desktop computer when the Next Media needs to be loaded? I must use two tapes on DLT for backup and the Please Insert Next Media prompt will cancel my backup if it doesn't find a blank tape within 15 minutes.

I do not know how to set it up using Alert Manager. Please help!

A custom Alert for the string that shows up in the log to Mount the next media.

There is no string to use from the Activity Log. All is says is to mount the Next Media.

When it ask for a blank media the message appear as:
W3832 Unable to find a blank media Or
N5940 Please mount one of the following media in device group.

So configure the alert to send notification to your computer when it matches the string W3832 or N5940.

We need to know what did? what you have done.
1-First you have to run Alert Manager from Start menu-->
Arcserve-->.... Alert

2-Drill till you reach Brodcast and select the machine you
want to send the broadcat to.
3-right click and send a test message
4-check if the message reached the other machine

Configure this from Arcserve:
1-Manager-->Backup
2-Backup-->Options
3-select Alert tab
4-select the Customed Event and Add the first Alert for
W3832* and
5-Make sure you select the right option in Method & recepients
6-Click add
7-follow the steps 4-6 to add the other N5940

This is solve your problem
