This is not a real issue but it does hits a nerve.
I have a Qualstar tls-4212 and barcoded tapes. The barcode is scanned correctly and Arcserve uses the information for the serial number during format.
BUT,
When I change tapes or a magazine - the tape library scans the tapes and then puts every tape in the drive to read the header information.
I am looking for away to shut this very time consuming feature off. I have read the tech help on CA's web site and this re-reading of the tapes should not happen with barcode labeled tapes.
Any help?
